When it comes to sport, the best way to approach it is with low expectations, that way you are delighted when results are good and realistic when results go sour.

Manchester City

5 from 6 in the league, still in the Carling cup, won 12 of the last 13 games at home. Things are looking good. The team are playing well and I think others are worried. My expectation is still top 6 (I tip them for 4th).

In general the EPL has been mostly predictable. Interestingly, there have been only 4 draws from 66 matches, this has to be some kind of record.

Sydney FC

We look nice but can’t score, we often dominate play but fail to make it happen in the final third. Aloisi showed potential at the start of the season, but that has since disappeared.

We are at the top but 3rd on goal difference, amazingly Perth Glory are 2nd and there is only 2 points separating 1st and 7th, nice and close .

Socceroos

Are playing the Netherlands on the 10th October and I am going. It is going to be a sweet game and lots of fun. SFS is a great ground for good atmosphere.

  1. As a Spurs fan, going in with low expectations is the only workable approach.

For example, I always expect us to lose or draw in extra time.
